When choosing syringes please note that the lower the guage number the larger the needle.  Eg 18g needles are generally used for horses.

The guage is always listed first and then the length which is measured in inches.  eg 18g 1  1/2 is an 18 guage needle that is one and half inches long.

 It is important to think about what is being put through the needle and also the length of the needle required.  If in doubt consult your veterinarian.
